SCHOOL GIRLS GETTING COUNSELING AND GUIDENING

Our counseling and pedagogy team, led by Mrs. Dorice Amonde Ng'anya, has launched regular school visits in Kisumu, Kenya, focusing exclusively on girls and young women.

During these visits, the team provides guidance on challenges faced by girls, including behavioral concerns and practical coping strategies in times of crisis. The counseling sessions offer girls insight into female life contexts, emotional processing patterns and the difficulties and contradictions that often arise during adolescence and young adulthood.

Key issues addressed include stress, drug and alcohol abuse, early marriage and teenage pregnancy, sexual violence and abuse, sexually transmitted diseases (including HIV/AIDS), delinquency and suicide. Each topic is discussed openly, with a strong focus on prevention, awareness and healthy ways of dealing with these challenges.

The girls are also given the opportunity to seek gender-specific support and confidential information directly from trained female specialists. Open discussions and question-and-answer sessions allow participants to express concerns in a safe and supportive environment.

At the end of each visit, the girls and young women receive sanitary towels and small gifts provided by TrueWorldHelp Organization, supporting both their health and dignity.
