In the early 70s one son of the late Mzee John Abiya namely Maurice Vincent Odera had alot of enthusiasm. He managed to put the young and the old in a very special party mode, which would bring the village to a stand still, those working outside Jina Village and it's neighbourhood would always want to come back home in December to enjoy the festival. 

We are therefore very excited to invite you to our upcoming Sports Events Day! The event will take place on December 24th at Jina Primary School at Jina Village, Yala Township in East Gem.   

Our goal and purpose for this event is not only to have fun, but also to empower our community by bringing harmony in the village. We believe that sports can play a key role in building a strong community, and that's why we have planned an exciting day of activities that will be perfect for anyone who loves sports.  

This will include all forks in life, whether you're an athlete, a fan, or just looking for a fun day out, atleast there will be something for everyone.  

The activities we have planned include: 

SPORTS FOR ADULTS: 

✓Soccer tournament, ✓Marathon, Obstacle course race, 

✓Tug of war competition(men) 

✓Tug of war men vs. women. (The number of women should double that of the men.) 

✓Three-Legged Race, ✓Wheelbarrow Race, ✓Relay races (men vs. women)

✓Egg and spoon race, ✓Blind man`s Volleyball, ✓Woman racing with pots on their head,  

✓Hula Hoop Marathon 

✓Netball 

✓Volleyball 

✓Dancing competition

✓Sack race,  

✓Rope pulling,  

✓Hula Hoop Marathon 

✓Athletics

✓Modelling contest  

✓Full entertainment for kids,  

✓Fun activities for children like face painting,

We will also have music, entertainment, and prizes to be won! Throughout the day, there be DJ's, an MC's and surprise musicians who will rock the day!

We will have guest speakers and community leaders talking about the importance of sports and physical activity in building a healthy community and nation.

This is a great opportunity to enjoy a day full of sports, entertainment, and to gear up community spirit, while also learning and making connections with others in our community.
